Rich in chamazulene and azulen Yarrow has a warm, earthy and sweet aroma with a strong herbal note and a slightly camphorous overtone.
Its soft, full aroma is reminiscent of German (True) Chamomile which is also a deep vivid blue color. It can stain so take care!
Yarrow's high azulen content (which gives it its powerful anti-inflammatory action) is even higher than German Chamomile!
Creative information:
Azulen also gives Yarrow anti-infectious properties for treating infections.
Blue Yarrow also called "Milfoil" has a stress-relieving and uplifting effect on the Body, Mind and Spirit and is an exceptionally versatile oil.
Historically Yarrow was used to heal battle wounds as it is strongly antiseptic, astringent, and anti-inflammatory.
Creative copys:
Legend has it that Yarrow's botanical name ( Achillea millefolium ) alludes to the God Achilles' especial fondness for Yarrow's sacred healing ability. It was the Yarrow plant that healed the God Achilles' injured Achilles tendon.
